The ubiquitous pandemic meme ‘nature is healing’ spoke to a widespread desire to find comfort and perspective in a renewed focus on the resilience of the natural world. These ‘Flower’ drawings have been created in times of corona, as a reminder of our collective and individual resilience, because even in the darkest moments, we are not alone. As a response to the enforced disconnectedness and distance between humans, drawing close-knit flower patterns felt tantalizing and almost taboo, permitting some quirk and positivity back into the world.

The process of repetition in the drawings, which began as a form of private healing during pandemic lockdowns, took on life as simple animated loops, and travelled outward to a public mural, bringing the fruits of introspection to prompt public joy as we re-enter and heal our communities.
