Depresh Blanket (to all the lonely boys)

Through the coiling and weaving of discarded materials,
I am considering the limitations we impose on ourselves and
the breadth of our imaginations. These structures allude to shifting tectonic plates unveiling utopian land, and woven detritus
of civilization. Do they rise from the earth, or are they placed
by forces beyond our comprehension?​

 

At its core, my artistic practice is concerned with building fictitious worlds, that serve as a beacons of inclusivity, constructing realms where all are welcome.​ The Totemic sculptures will travel around the globe, installed in various locations and orientations, as reminders that true freedom is a collective endeavor.​​​
